To strengthen its industry-leading position within Digital Manufacturing, Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is building a Digital Center of Excellence, driving the strategic development of our SMS digital agenda, managing back-end synergies, and focusing on technical development within infrastructure, data security and certain aspects of information and communications technology. Now, we are looking for someone with the courage and motivation to take the lead in building up this Digital Center of Excellence and who wants to exert strong influence on the future of the organization. The location for this position is flexible within Sweden or Europe.

Job Summary

As Head of Digital Center of Excellence, you are the leader with the mandate to create something new and different in one of the world’s leading manufacturing companies. You take the lead in setting strategic direction and building the SMS Digital Center of Excellence, starting with a small existing business in Tool Lifecycle Management that, partly through acquisitions, will grow and secure that SMS can generate significant revenue, enabling you to create a sustainable business. You are responsible for defining and implementing the new business model and governance for the Digital Center of Excellence, and for developing our business in the area of Digital Manufacturing through organic growth of capabilities and through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). You ensure the development and commitment of the team and challenge the way we have done things in the past, bringing this area into a modern environment and leading the way forward.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a degree and at least ten years’ experience from working in the digital field, who has extensive understanding of the manufacturing industry environment. Your career up until now includes being part of start-up ventures where you have built successful and sustainable teams or organizations from scratch and, as you understand how we may use new and fast moving technology to our benefit, you are well prepared for the challenge to introduce digital solutions into our industrial setting. As we act on the global stage, your communication skills in English must be exceptional, both verbally and in writing.
