Field Service Technician (Mining/Construction Equipment)

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology is a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industry. Our offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to service our customers in Chateauguay, Quebec and surrounding area.
The Role
  • Inspecting Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology equipment for proper performance and determining faults and malfunctions
  • Adjusting equipment & repairing/replacing defective parts components or systems according to scope of work to restore equipment to original manufacture specifications
  • Commissioning new equipment
  • Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
  • Completing accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
  • Staying current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Your Profile
  • Diploma or certificate in mechanical/electrical field or equivalent experience with mining and construction equipment
  • Good knowledge and ability to read hydraulics and electrical schematics
  • Prior experience in service of hydraulic drilling an asset
  • Understanding of mining and construction equipment an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Must be willing to travel as required
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada
