Key performance areas
As the Project/CAM Engineer, you will work within a global environment to create the best tooling solutions and deliver competitive engineered projects for our customers in order to deliver and exceed our customer’s expectations and secure profitable after-market sales for Sandvik Coromant. You will provide solutions in concert with the defined business and product strategies. This role will involve working across multifunctional teams to support sales growth, and will support a more focused approach to Strategic and Global Account projects and components to assure a strong market presence and high performance. You will also conduct training for internal and external customers, as required.
The Project/CAM Engineer responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare concept/proposal process solutions for projects
  • Define machining processes, tooling, and parameters for customers by developing new, or applying appropriate methods and processes
  • Produce CAM programs for all levels of machines, including, but not limited to, 3/4/5 axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, lathes, and milling machines
  • Ensure efficient project execution for customers and provide customers with documentation including process details and tool layouts
  • Prepare presentation materials and make presentations for internal and external customers, as well as for training purposes
  • Responsible to work directly with our sales organization within customer projects to develop and drive our project offer at strategic and selected accounts

  • US citizenship or green card required
This is a field-based position, location flexible. Domestic and international travel is required for this position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience, with 5 plus years of manufacturing experience relating to cutting tools or machining. Engineer. You have strong CAD/CAM programming experience, and possess a proven track record of successful project management. Knowledge and understanding of the Aerospace segment and the Aerospace customer would be a significant plus. You are a skilled communicator comfortable presenting in front of both internal and external stakeholders, and collaborating globally with your sales coworkers. You have engineering process, machine concept, and manufacturing knowledge, and an understanding of metal cutting processes and cutting tool applications.
