Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
Key Performance Areas
As the Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for processing transactional finance activities and performing in house General Accounting / Fixed Asset activities, coordinating activities between all necessary parties. In addition, the Lead Accountant is responsible for supporting Business Area and Country Finance in the GA/FA process as well as coordinating GA/FA related matters with the Country Service Delivery Manager. You will also function as back-up for other roles within the Sandvik Country Finance Organization and contribute to selected internal development projects. This role will have two direct reports.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform monthly closing activities and review financial statements in compliance with Sandvik guidelines
  • Prepare management reports as needed
  • Monitor system driven cost allocation processes
  • Monitor external and internal systems that integrate with Aurora for accuracy. These include EQ, Maximo, inventory and purchasing functions.
  • Assist with the annual audit and tax package as required
  • Understand Corporate Policies and IAS / IFRS so to assist in keeping the Company records in compliance
  • Act as liaison with the SMRT Contract Group to assure Sales and Costs are properly recorded
  • Provide support for all individuals who require assistance with the EQ and Inventory functionality
  • Train Sandvik users in service provider tools using Sandvik Finance Academy as support
  • Provide instructions on calculating allocations

Your Profile
You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, along with a minimum of 5 years of Accounting experience. A CPA is preferred but not required. Your communication skills, verbal and written, are top-notch, and you have strong math, problem solving and analytical skills. As a manager, you are ready to provide leadership and encourage the development of your team.
You are self-directed and able to work with minimum supervision, while ensuring expectations and deadlines are met across the board. Your attention to detail is top-notch and you are extremely organized as well as flexible.
