Currently, we are seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to support our Global Digital organization as well as the Group HR Director in a number of HR initiatives globally including diversity, rewards, performance management and retention. In this newly created position you will support the business responsible for the digital transformation of the organisation
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Digital Officer and his leadership team to set and implement the HR agenda for digital staff globally including focusing on recruitment and training & development for a population of 100 full time and contract staff.
In this role you would be expected to:
- Function as a member of the digital management team developing objectives and priorities to meet the business plan
- Work with the Chief Digital Officer to develop his organisation and manage a highly matrixed function to deliver strategy, major projects and business support
- Work with managers on effective people and team leadership
- Develop and manage resourcing plans to recruit critical skills which are in high demand
- Lead people development activities: identifying talent for key or hard to fill roles, coaching, and mentoring
- Develop a training plan based on Group programmes and bespoke tech training requirements
- Provide clear, high quality HR advice and support to peers and managers on a wide range of people and organisational issues
- Work with regional HR operations teams, ensuring compliance with employment law and regulations in the different jurisdictions
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to ensure consistent Economist Group HR thought leadership and operational delivery
- Support the Group HR Director through research and analysis to develop a range of improvements including diversity, reward, performance, and retention
- Provide supervision as an HR Adviser and HR Executive providing HR operational support to EMEA
To succeed in this role you must have:
- Degree level education preferable but proven relevant experience is more important
- HR generalist experience in a company which is known for good HR practices is essential
- Experience in a technology/software/social media/on-line retail company is essential
- Knowledge and skills in most aspects of HR: recruitment, training, staff development and organisational change
- Ability to learn, adapt and advise with ease as well as the skill of being able to coach at a variety of levels
- Numerate with some experience of reward – benchmarking, pay and incentive arrangements, annual processes
- Good understanding of social media and networking, digital content and products, data optimisation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google suite and Excel
To succeed in the role you must demonstrate:
- Knowledge of other languages would be helpful but not essential
- Sound, thoughtful judgment about people and situations
- Excellent influencing skills and an ability to deal effectively and pragmatically with diverse HR issues
- Able to work independently but also within a collegiate atmosphere
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Courage in advocating a position or professional point of view based on substance
- Engagement with all digital employees to understand opinions and motivation
- Enthusiasm and initiative in taking the HR agenda forward along with establishing collaborative relationships with digital and HR colleagues
- A genuine understanding of and enthusiasm for technology
