We seek qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director based in Dakar, Senegal.

Position Responsibilities:

The Deputy Director provides leadership, management and technical expertise in the FHI Senegal office. Key responsibilities include: Assist Director in development, management, implementation and evaluation of appropriate systems, projects, services, staff and budgets; Mange program unit of Country Office, which will include programmatic coordination, monitoring and reporting, and communications functions; Assist Director in development and evaluation of unit/division/departmental goals and/or objectives, proposals, reports, etc., as it relates to organization’s strategic plan and priorities; Assure the necessary support to programmatic functions and responsibilities; Contribute to resource development efforts, including participation in proposal development; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

BS/BA and 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience; or MS/MA in public health or related field and 7-9 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience; PhD/MD or equivalent degree and 5-7 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience required.
Experience in quality assurance/quality improvement and/or program monitoring and evaluation desirable. English and French language skills required.
