Medical Advisor PMTCT of HIV

As the PMTCT Medical Advisor you will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring for results Organization’s Namibia public health program activities. The candidate will serve as a consultant and advisor to host government and other national and international in-country partners in matters related to national activities aimed at preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Minimum Qualifications:

•MD preferred; Masters of Public Health Degree or similar degree required
•Experience working on the implementation of PMTCT programs in less-developed countries
•Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of delivering and evaluating PMTCT programs.
•Strong leadership, program management, and negotiation skills
•Ability to understand and address program management issues
•In depth knowledge of linked HIV programs (pediatric HIV programs, ARV services, etc) as well as non-HIV related programs like Reproductive Child Health
•Understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles with minimal two years practical experience
•Knowledge of literature regarding PMTCT and other HIV services
