Information Management and Research Manager, P3

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking a qualified individual with strong knowledge management and research skills for the position of the Information Management and Research Manager at P3 level, which will become available in our headquarters in Rome, Italy.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following key duties:

- Manage inventory data used in Private Sector (e.g. research reports, proposal, letters, pitches, power points, brochures, talking points, etc.), and organize to maximize team access and use. Ensure donor records are updated and retained for proper length of time;
- Formulate and manage online portals and databases to maximize information flow, including Salesforce, Microsoft Sharepoint, proposal database and other databases;
- Configure and, with buy-in from the team, continually organize and upload resources within the structure of the platform, making sure this completely supports and optimizes the work of the team;
- Identify ways in which the platform is useful to each team member and all team members as a group are encouraged to use it;
- Ensure compliance of team member in their use of information sharing platforms;
- Identify other tools that may add value to the work of the team, and suggest ways in which to integrate them;
- Oversee the research/due diligence process and integrate the information in the management platform. Research and due diligence includes:
- Producing reports on suitability of potential partners with reference to WFP needs
- Providing detailed analysis of donor offer in relation to WFP needs to be used in sales plans through internal and external research
- Actively participating in the development of the sales package/proposal
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
- University degree in International Development, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Information Management and Research, or other related fields. Advanced university degree is desirable.

Experience:
- At least 5 years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in international development, or in corporate social responsibility/sustainability in the private sector, or in managing large private foundations and associated philanthropic events;
- Experience in private sector fundraising, developing public-private partnerships, negotiations with private partners and public relations/advocacy, research and information technology platforms;
- Managerial experience.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent communications skills such as to approach the information management and research needs in a creative way;
- Understanding of how technology can optimize the work of often geographically distributed groups and teams;
- General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing administration is an asset.

- Excellent presentation and problem solving skills;
- Strong organization and planning ability;
- Ability to think and plan strategically;
- Ability to work independently, as well as to organize, assess and coordinate the work of others;
- Ability to work harmoniously with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Language:
- Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another UN official language (Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian or Chinese) or Portuguese as a WFP working language;
- Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.

Terms and Conditions

Selected candidates will be employed on a two-year contract fixed-term with a probationary period of one year. After the completion of the first term, contract may be extended or renewed if certain conditions are met.
