Programme Development Director World Vision

World Vision International (www.wvi.org) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization, dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We are currently seeking a Programme Development Director for our World Vision Haiti Emergency Response, based in Port Au Prince.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As the leader of the Programme Development Team, the Programme Development Director is accountable for:
  • developing the Response’s strategic programmatic framework,
  • funding acquisition,
  • quality preparation of proposal submissions and donor reports,
  • ensuring that projects are compliant with and implemented according to donor requirements, grant specifications, and WV’s internal policies,
  • oversight of information management
  • providing leadership to the Programme Officers who lend technical assistance to the Operational Sectors on all aspects of project design, while working closely with DME to integrate monitoring and evaluation.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Leadership experience in Strategic Planning, Program Design and Development, Funding Acquisition, Program Monitoring and Evaluation, Information Management, and Compliance.
  • At least 5 years field experience in a relief or development environment, preference given to experience in volatile and/or conflict-affected contexts,
  • Previous experience with major donor proposal writing and budget preparation (USAID, ECHO, BPRM, UN agencies preferred) ,
  • Staff management and mentorship experience,
  • Honed Donor Liaison and Relationship Building experience,
  • Capacity building experience in project design, implementation, reporting, and evaluation,
  • Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Power Point,
  • Fluency in English written and verbal skills; French and Haitian Creole language skills a plus
