Divisional Cost Accountant

(1) Overview
The Cost Accountant performs activities covering materials and production
costs, costs of sales, product development, and overheads,
(2) Primary Duties
(a) Inventory Control:
1. Control the issuance of raw and packing materials for production.
2. Periodic reconciliation of physical and the G/L inventory balances.
3. Periodic reports on the inventory variances
4. Initiate corrective measures on the variances
5. Monitor inventory levels for negative quantities, errors and obsolete
stocks

(b) Production Process
6. Timely Closure of all the Production Orders.
7. Analyze manufacturing variance of each production and prepare reports.
8. Monitor Production wastages and report.
9. Timely corrective measure
10. Periodic review of the Bills of Materials and routings for accuracy

(c) Other Duties
11 Responsible for the accuracy of data input for the division.
12. Analysis of other production overheads
13. Liaison with other divisions

(3). Reports
1. Stock Variances report
2. Production Variances Reports.
3. Divisional Activity Reports.

(4): Key Performance Indicators

1. Timely Closure of Production Orders
2. Reduction in the Variances
3. Timely and Accurate Reports


(5) Job Requirement

1. A person who is independent, proactive and capable of handling stress.

2. Qualification: CPA/ACCA level 2

3. Work Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as Cost Accountant in a
manufacturing entity

4. Proficiency in Ms Office and use of Internet facilities

5. Experience in the Use of ERP systems. Knowledge of SAP added advantage.
