Program Manager - DIPECHO VI- ActionAid Bangladesh

ActionAid International (AAI) is a unique partnership of people striving towards its mission of working ¡§with poor and excluded people to eradicate poverty and injustice¡¨ in over 50 countries in Asia, Africa, Australia, the Americas and Europe.

ActionAid Bangladesh with support from European Commission Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid - DG ECHO is implementing a disaster risk reduction project in Bangladesh which aims to enhance the capacities of communities and institutions to overcome various natural disasters and mobilize communities and institutions for effective risk reduction.

Key Responsibility of the position
* Overall project coordination, technical guidance and management of the project implementation
* Oversee the financial management, prepare and provide activity plans and donor reports as per requirements
* Identify and support partner in capacity building and enhancement of DRR related skill
* Regular update and liaison with donors and other internal functions such as HR, Finance and AAB management on project activities
* Monitor and follow up project activities to ensure quality output of the project activities
* Responsible for coordination with national and international stakeholders.

Person Specification
We seek a candidate with minimum 5 years of project management experience related to DRR and emergencies along with a post graduate degree in the relevant field. The candidate must have a broad development vision, experience in dealing with donor accountability, managing diverse teams, coordinating partner organizations along with excellent finance and communication skills in English.
Proficiency in Bangla Language will be an asset. She/he should excel on writing proposals/reports and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must be aligned to ActionAid values, with ability to work in sensitive and multicultural work environment.

This is a senior post reporting to the Country Director and is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh with frequent travel. The post is offered under Action Aid's international terms and conditions for an eighteen (18) months contract.
