Deputy Director: Gender

Salary package: R406 839 per annum. This all-inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State's contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and a flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules. The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract. (Ref. 76191/7)

Requirements: * Appropriate 3-year Bachelor's degree with 2 or more of the following subjects: Gender and Development, Organisational Development, Development Studies, International Relations * A minimum of 3 years' working experience, where competence was displayed in training and facilitation.
Competencies: * Supervisory and project management skills * Analytical, policy formation, training and research skills * Good writing (including reporting) and communication skills * Team leadership qualities * Problem-solving ability * Diversity management * Customer focus and responsiveness * People management * Excellent gender training and facilitation skills.
Duties: The incumbent will be required to work as a team member in support of South Africa's foreign policy and strategic objectives as they pertain to gender mainstreaming. This includes the facilitation and implementation of the following services: * Providing training and facilitation services to internal and external stakeholders
* Monitoring and evaluating training impact and implementation * Assisting in ensuring the effective functioning of the Chief Directorate * Assisting in supporting South African missions abroad with appropriate information and/or materials to enhance their effectiveness around gender responsive strategies * Overseeing and assisting in managing projects, including seminars, conferences and workshops * Assisting in managing human and financial resources of the Chief Directorate: Gender within the framework of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) * Facilitating the timely execution of tasks of the Chief Directorate: Gender * Providing substance support for departmental processes such as strategic planning, annual reports, progress and performance reports, Portfolio Committee briefings and other such reports as may be required * Working closely with the Chief Director to fulfil the efficient and effective implementation of the Departmental gender mainstreaming mandate
