PSI Research and Metrics Department seeks a quantitative research consultant to assist PSI country research teams in producing strong research results that impact programming decision-making. The consultant will be expected to have outstanding quantitative data analysis skills. Of particular importance is demonstrated expertise in Respondent Driven Sampling and RDSat to study MARPs. The initial term of consultancy will be 6-9 months, with the possibility of extension. The position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied duties and projects. This consultancy position reports to the Regional Researcher, Asia/Eastern Europe.

Responsibilities:

Contractor will perform the following services for PSI:

Provide technical assistance including:

  • Survey and sampling methodology
  • Review of data (assessment of quality and feasibility/best approach for analysis)
  • Provide an analysis plan, including the creation of dummy tables
  • Clean data and create a “master” working data set (recode, merge, identify problem variables)
  • Dashboard analysis (univariate, bivariate, multivariate), including but not limited to factor analysis, logistic regression, and predicted probabilities.

Assist country teams in producing Quantitative Reports. Specifically, consultant will:

  • Describe data analysis process (methods section)
  • Complete all necessary tables
  • Write all text in results section

Build country teams’ capacity to perform quantitative analysis independently by:

  • Conducting trainings
  • Monitoring progress
  • Mentoring researchers

Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in public health, anthropology, sociology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience providing high level public health research technical assistance
  • Knowledge of PSI Research & Metrics tools and procedures strongly desired
  • Experience supervising research in HIV/AIDS, malaria, and reproductive health
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative data analysis
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Expertise with SPSS, SAS, STATA required
  • Expertise using RDS to sample hard-to-reach populations and RDSat to analyze survey results
  • Experience working in developing country contexts mandatory
