Description:
Asia Society, a prestigious, cultural, educational and global non profit is seeking a Program Assistant. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Global Policy Programs, the Program Assistant will provide administrative, program coordination, and research support for the department's activities, including task forces, working groups, dialogues, strategic partnerships, and the Bernard Schwartz Fellows Program and Book Award.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating the Society's policy programs, including task forces, working groups, dialogues, strategic partnerships with policy institutes in Asia, and the Bernard Schwartz Fellows Program and Book Award
  • Provide research support; Track US-Asia relations as well as relevant political and economic developments in Asia
  • Write and edit correspondence, meeting summaries, briefing papers, and publicity materials
  • Assist in website content development, including updating, drafting, editing, tagging and posting content
  • Coordinate outreach efforts in support of the department's projects
  • Help manage the Vice President's calendar, including scheduling appointments and meeting preparation
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including arranging facilities and catering services; issuing invitations and tracking RSVPs; arranging travel itineraries and hotel accommodations; and serving as a rapporteur at meetings when requested
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including mailings, photocopying, faxing, handling phones and maintaining supplies
  • Maintain contact databases, records, filing, and data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification:
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years related work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of U.S.-Asia affairs and related foreign policy issues
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of administrative processes
  • Strong ability to interact with experts, high level individuals, and the public and work collaboratively with diverse constituencies
  • Must be a team player who is willing to assist where needed, manage multiple tasks, and problem-solve
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; image, video, and audio editing experience a plus
