Description:

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (“ABA ROLI”) seeks a Police Reform Coordinator, who will assist in the rapid implementation of an anticipated police reform program in Guatemala. The Police Reform Coordinator, together with the Country Director, will:

• Review and analyze police reform proposals, and provide expert advice on their merits;
• Coordinate closely with Government of Guatemala counterparts and international donors;
• Facilitate dialogue between key actors to arrive at a consensus on reform goals and strategies;
• Facilitate the development of an action plan to achieve reform priorities;

This is a short-term consultancy to be based out of ABA ROLI's Guatemala City office.

Qualification:

Requires 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of police reform in Latin America, including intimate knowledge of institutional models. Additional job requirements include: professional fluency (oral and written) in Spanish, excellent and demonstrated interpersonal skills, management abilities, and strong communication skills.
