Barrick is headquartered in Toronto, Canada and has 26 mining operations with many advanced exploration projects located across 5 continents and a large number of land positions located on some of the most prolific and prospective mineral trends.
Currently we are recruiting Lead Project Controls Specialist- 12 months contract for our projects based in Jabal Sayid, Saudi Arabia.
Location: Saudi Arabia Flyin Flyout (28 days on/14 days off)
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure necessary project controls support in achieving project objectives
• Forecast completion costs based on trends including productivity measurements, labor rate analysis, commitments, change management, schedule impacts and material cost variance
• Update, maintain and analyze project commitments, cost flow, and expenditures while also supporting monitoring, reviewing and analysis of cost, schedule and associated reporting
• Review, assess and analyze contractor progress and performance during engineering, procurement and construction through to the commissioning phase of the project

• Lead a team of Project Control professionals to ensure project costs and schedule are effectively managed through the various engineering, procurement and construction phases of the project
• Provide capacity and insight for directing the Owner Project Controls team and guiding all project controls activities to support Construction Management on site
• Manage a project controls group responsible for cost, scheduling, quantity surveying and reporting

• Support the development and maintenance of cost reporting and forecasting systems to ensure project estimates and budgets remain current and change management supports project objectives
• Identify project schedule and budget trends through a comprehensive project controls system
Qualifications and Education:
• Technical diploma or University degree with relevant experience in Project Management or a combination of work experience and training.
· Senior level (10-20 + years') related experience with capital projects in project controls, project reporting, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
· Understanding of software such as Primavera P6, MS Office.
· Understanding of PMI project management principles will be an asset.
· Previous supervisory experience, coaching and guiding staff, would be beneficial.
· Exposure to engineering and construction project environments within a variety of industries and sizes.
· Middle East experience a plus
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
