LOGISTIC AND FINANCIAL COORDINATOR

ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries. These employees are working on projects which are ACF’s four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

ACF-Spain seeks to expand its team of logistic and financial coordinators for current and future vacancies in geographical regions where ACF is working.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1) Responsible for the administrative, financial and logistics management of the mission.

2) Being an active part of the team to improve the coordination of the assigned mission.

TASKS:

1) As responsible for managing the logistics of the mission you must be:

  • Responsible for the realization, implementation and monitoring of the logistic strategy of the mission
  • Ensure the inclusion of logistic issues in the different steps of the project cycle according to the strategy of the department and according to the goal of ensuring an efficient and transparent project cycle.
  • Make sure that the proper implementation procedures are being followed to assure efficient supply chain management protocols.
  • Ensure the fulfilment of the logistic procedures included in the Logistic Kit and in the donors’ rules.
  • Actively take part in security management, according to the distribution of the responsibilities within Operations (Head of Mission) and Logistics.
  • Responsible for the logistical response of the mission in case of an emergency (definition and maintenance of contingency plans at different levels: logistic, emergency stocks, capacities SKILLS / ABILITIES of staff, etc.)

2) As responsible of the administrative and financial management of the mission you must be:

  • Responsible for budget planning and monitoring
  • Responsible for the liquid assets or petty cash
  • Accounting control and management
  • Management of the Human Resources procedures
  • Represent the organization during the absence of the Head of Mission and negotiate with donors

3) As an active part of the team for the Coordination of the mission you must be ready to:

  • Assist in defining the missions’ strategy, particularly in determining the long-term logistic and financial strategy, in collaboration with the other members of the coordination team
  • Represent the Logistics and Financial Departments of ACF-Spain, on the ground.

4) Additional transversal-responsibilities: - Contact and coordinate with the logistic, administrative and human resources referees in ACF - Madrid headquarters - Constantly be in contact with the logistic team in Madrid - Monitoring, support and technical evaluation of the team under your responsibility

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Degree in Economics, Finance or similar
  • At least 2 years experience in finance, accounting, budget and logistic coordination in the field
  • Experience with staff coordination, monitoring and evaluation programmes
  • Capacity planning, organization and resolution
  • Fluency in any of the following combinations English-Spanish/French-Spanish/English-French
  • SAGA knowledge is an asset
  • Sense of diplomacy, precision, reliability and commitment
  • Microsoft Office (Excel in particular). Accounting systems knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Post-graduate degree in International Development is highly desirable.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Travel costs to and from the mission

  • Salary: 1500 € to 2350 € gross per month, according to experience and responsibilities
  • ACF-Spain remuneration system allows a yearly projection according to results of the evaluation and commitment
  • Per-diem
  • A one-week break which includes travel costs to a reference zone, and 200 € extra for the week
  • 25 vacation days per year
  • Travel and accident insurance and repatriation (this is paid by the organization)
  • Extra per month for every child under 18.

REQUIREMENTS:

For candidates who are not in Madrid, the first interview will be a telephone interview. Face to face interviews will be held in Madrid. Travel costs are initially paid by the candidates, but they will be reimbursed if they offered a working contract.
