Regional Campaign Coordinator -Child Health Now, EAR

The Regional Campaign Coordinator for Child Health Now (CHN) will play a key role in supporting the development and successful delivery of the Child Health Now campaign at the regional and national levels. The Coordinator will work with other colleagues to ensure integration of the campaign across different lines of Ministry, provide expert advice and support to national offices taking part in the campaign to ensure that all offices roll-out a systematic process the establishes both the systems and structures. With the support of the Advocacy Learning Center, the Regional Team, and the Global Campaign Team, the Coordinator will roll out a process for the scale up of the Campaign across the region, lead the development of an integrated regional CHN campaign strategy, develop the capacity of NOs wanting to engage in the campaign in FY12, coordinate regional engagement around key regional and global events, and work with Regional Advocacy Learning Centre (LC) to develop advocacy and campaigning capacity.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Under the leadership of the Advocacy Advisor, work with other departments and LCs to set up and convene a Campaign Management Team (CMT) tasked with implement the Regional CHN Strategy.
    • A regional CMT set up that links to and engages with both the global CHN structures and the NO CHN structures. Facilitate a consultation process for identifying new CHN NOs in the region. Work with NOs to develop Design documents for CHN. and National office leadership and advocacy and health staff are supported in conducting assessments, developing strategy, developing internal and external communications, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the campaign, and integrating campaign activities into other key sectors such as communications, marketing, Christian Commitments.
    • Facilitate the development of an integrated CHN Regional Strategy
    • Conduct regional assessments and research;
    • Work closely with the Health, Communications and other relevant LCs to integrate campaign messaging.
    • Provide specialist advice and support to leadership and other areas of Ministry to ensure integration of the campaign at NO and RO Levels.
    • With the support of the Advocacy Learning Center, the Regional Team, and the Global Campaign Team, roll out a process for the scale up of the Campaign across the region
    • Regional engagement around Maternal and Child Health at key strategic fora.
    • Support the development of staff capacity, Documentation of existing innovative Campaign approaches and practice that are making a positive impact in the lives of communities, support Research that will inform and guide NO and Regional engagement through the CHN Campaign.
    • Contribute to capacity building initiatives of national and regional staff to actively support and participate in the CHN Campaign.
    • Support NOs and the Advocacy LC in raising funds and mobilizing resources for scaling up and sustaining the CHN Campaign.
    • Coordinate external engagement of the region at regional and global events and before regional and global targets.
    • Coordinate regional campaign activities with NO and RO leadership (and national CHN teams), health, and advocacy staff; develop internal communications and external publications; represent World Vision at key events; in liaison with the Advocacy Advisor and the Regional Leader, influence regional decision makers;
    • Work with the RO and global centre to generate or otherwise acquire research to sustain regional and global engagement.
    • Pro-actively socialize activities and achievements of Child Health Now in the region with the Global Center and key Support Offices.
    • Work with the Regional and Global teams to ensure economic sustainability of Child Health Now in national offices and regional office.
    • Assist national offices in proper reporting and communications to donors.
    • Develop relationships and liaise with internal and external donors.
    • Develop proposals jointly with national offices and regional office.
    • Represent the region in internal partnership meetings.
    • Participate in Partnership events and actively contribute to communities of practice and working groups.
    • Respond to requests from partners and donors.
    • Work with other colleagues to ensure integration of the campaign across different lines of Ministry, provide expert advice and support to national offices taking part in the campaign to ensure that all offices roll-out a systematic process the establishes both the systems and structures.
    • CHN Integrated as part of on-going Programme and Advocacy work in ADPs and at the National Level.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
      REQUIRED:
    • Undergraduate degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field
    • Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking
    • A successful track record in developing and implementing advocacy campaigns
    • Min 3 years experience in advocacy, communications, and/or health policies and programs; and experience of developing this capacity in other people
    • Strong project management experience
    • Experience of working with different offices across different national boundaries
    • Fundraising skills

      PREFERRED:
    • Undergraduate degree in Development Studies
