Project Coordinator, Nepal

Position Overview
VaxTrac is a US-based nonprofit that employs technology to improve healthcare delivery in developing countries. Reporting to the Director of Programs & Partnerships, the Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing all program activities in Nepal, including maintaining effective partnerships (Nepal and US), coordinating and informing impact evaluations, overseeing ongoing localization of technology, coordinating user feedback sessions, managing local staff, and facilitating strategic scale up of the project. Job will require travel up to 25% of the time, the majority of which will be to Nepal.
Job Duties
  • Work with local staff to coordinate regular meetings of the project stakeholders. Manage relationships with funding partners in Nepal and the US, keeping program team informed of decisions and activities and creating regular project reports to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Supervise in country team and local implementing partners to monitor project reporting mechanisms (technical and impact related) and ensure all project activities are operating effectively, troubleshooting any issues or concerns that may arise. Conduct at least 2-3 user feedback sessions per year and make recommendations to US based technology team for technical improvements.
  • Support all country related activities including internal and external communication, marketing initiatives, travel to Nepal for staff and members of the board, evaluation and data collection, budgeting, contracts and subcontracts.
  • Work with Director of Programs & Partnerships to build out a plan for strategic and sustainable scale up and make suggestions to Ministry of Health for moving beyond the pilot phase, keeping up to date on all possible in country collaborations and technical partners than may increase the project’s viability.
Skills and qualifications
  • Extensive experience in the region or in Nepal specifically
  • Familiarity with mHealth/eHealth systems and/or ICT for development
  • Proven history of taking initiative and making effective use of autonomy
  • Excellent communication abilities, with a particular focus on communicating across cultures
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field (Public Health, International Development, Project Management, etc.)
Bonus Points
  • Prior experience with, or exposure to, research methods and M&E concepts
  • Nepali or other local language skills (ie Hindi)
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and doing better
