Temporary Agent (Grade AD9)

Duties:

The person selected will be responsible for the Information Technology Unit in the Department of Organisational and Administrative Affairs in the S&D Group. He/she will supervise, lead, motivate and coordinate a team; optimize the use of the team's resources whilst ensuring quality of service in the different areas of activity; relay guidelines, objectives, instructions and information; advise his/her hierarchy, colleagues, the Group President and senior management in his/her areas of competence.
He/she will be someone dynamic, creative, capable of understanding, of analysing and describing the needs and operation procedures of the users; able to analyse the IT needs of the secretariat in close collaboration with the Head of Department and other members of management and make technical proposals in terms of projects; devise, draw up, formalize, propose and implement IT solutions best suited to assist with the objectives and action plans set by the Group; plan, allocate and manage resources; guarantee coherence between activities of the Unit and the IT needs of the secretariat to implement Group policies; establish close collaboration with those responsible for IT services within the EP, the other political groups in the EP and external suppliers of IT equipment.

Candidates must fulfil the following conditions: 

Be a national of an EU member state and must have a university degree and subsequent professional experience of at least 10 years relevant to the above job description, including 3 years of managerial experience, a very good knowledge of Community mechanisms and European institutions, significant professional experience in the areas of supervision, leadership, motivation and coordination of a team; experience of working in a multinational environment; significant professional experience with managing IT projects.
Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union. For working purposes, a very good knowledge of English or French is required and a good knowledge of one other of the following languages: English, French, German or Spanish.
The selection procedure will be on the basis of qualifications and tests. The successful candidate will be recruited as a temporary agent in the AD 9 grade.
