As Amnesty International’s expert on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) you’ll lead on the development and implementation of an effective and deliverable strategy in the DRC for positive human rights change.
About the role:
Your job will be to deliver impact in relation to agreed priorities, providing research expertise, research management, political judgment and analytical, communication and representational skills.
You will lead on the development and implementation of the overarching strategy for the Democratic Republic of Congo to deliver impact in relation to agreed priorities on the Democratic Republic of Congo, including developing strategies to identify the most effective ways to address human rights concerns.
You will also monitor, research, investigate and analyse human rights-related developments in order to provide timely, accurate, independent and impartial assessments and expert advice on the human rights situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
About you:
As our expert on the Democratic Republic of Congo, you’ll be responsible for leading on the development and implementation of research and advocacy strategies, so it’s imperative you have an in-depth knowledge of human rights issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo and substantial experience working there, as well as plenty of useful contacts to draw upon.
We’re looking for you to have experience researching human rights or related issues and be confident writing research materials for a variety of audiences, including tailoring materials to reach for various target audiences via digital channels. You’ll be working closely with a small immediate team so great team working skills are a must.
Complete fluency in French and the ability to understand and express ideas in English in a fluent, clear and concise way, both orally and in writing are crucial, as you will be required to produce publishable materials in English.
