Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and is a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, load and hauling and materials solutions.
We are currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor to be based at our Val-d’Or, QC facility.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include leading our team of shop personnel to ensure work is completed in compliance with company and legislative quality/safety standards as well as carrying out the following essential job duties:
  • Ensuring workshop personnel complete accurate requisitions for work orders
  • Overseeing work orders and jobs to ensure they are completed successfully to meet operational requirements and delivery dates
  • Monitoring job costs and providing feedback to appropriate personnel
  • Coaching, training, evaluating and leading workshop personnel to accomplish set objectives and goals of the workshop
  • Responding to customer inquiries on work order statuses
  • Ensuring all workshop personnel work in accordance with legislative and company required safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by department Manager
Your Profile
  • Technical degree/diploma in mechanical or electrical field
  • 7 years’ experience with mining equipment and proven experience in a similar leadership role within a mining environment
  • Bilingualism is required (French and English)
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
