Inventory Manager - West and Central Africa
Introduction
Parts Inventory Mining Management is responsible for all parts inventory globally (Front and Back Lines)
Main responsibilities are:
- Parts Inventory Management Mining Parts Inventory Management (SMCL and SA)
- Parts buying (external and internal suppliers, global and local)
- Consignment stock authorization POC
- Strategic stock process and requests
- Operational performance and process ownership (Buying and Inventory Management)
Scope
This role is responsible for the Management of Parts Inventory in West and Central Africa (Front and Back Lines)
Key Responsibilities
General
Strong focus on safety is a must, in planning and implementing the regional business infrastructure in line with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology’s EHS policies, procedures and objective at all times.
Direct management responsibility
- Recruit into, and develop the team to have deep knowledge and understanding of inventory management
- Manage the Inventory team and ensure that the processes, procedures and management review structure are in place to ensure customer performance targets are met, and the team is adequately supported.
- Manage inventory settings and ensure that best trade-off is found for working capital vs. items availability for sale
- Implement and monitor operational KPIs necessary to meet service and working capital targets
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders that affect the success of the inventory team (sales areas, distribution team, order desk, etc.)
- Design & Execute inventory optimization program (obsolete/excess centralization program)
- Support strategic stock management process
- Support Global projects deployment
COMPETENCE PROFILE
- Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Parts inventory management challenges.
- Knowledge of Aftermarket business and/or Mining business.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and business management tools (System 21, Maximo, etc.) and standard Software (Microsoft Office/ Qlikview / PDM etc.).
- Very good analytics and problem solving skills
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Good general business acumen.
- Good working knowledge of English, and ability to travel within the region.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum 5 years working experience.
- Degree and/or diploma within the supply chain area.
