UTZ is headquartered in Amsterdam and works closely with its partner network in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It has representational offices in 15 countries, covering North and South markets and origins.
UTZ Certified is looking to hire a:
Market Development Manager Germany
The Market Development Team aims to facilitate and increase the demand for UTZ Certified commodities. You will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in your main business area - Germany. You identify business potential for new and existing accounts in mainstream FMCG, ranging from brand owners, private label producers, traders and retailers, to out of home and institutional clients and you proactively transform these client needs into mutual commercial success. This leads to an attractive mix of existing and new client and stakeholder contacts in a market with both great commercial and sustainability potential. It is also crucial to identify and cease opportunities to position UTZ in a broader sense and/or hook up with developments. You are well organized, independent and a self-starting top professional, thriving in a dynamic environment. You bring experience in sales to large international businesses, preferably in FMCG, preferably in food.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Development and execution of market development- and account plans for the designated markets and strategic accounts/prospects within these markets;
  • Create, develop and maintain relationships with companies members/prospects, industry and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction in assigned market and client portfolio;
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and key developments in sustainability for the assigned markets and within the related sectors;
  • Align marketing plan (with Customer Marketing Manager);
  • Guide and align member support.
You are member of the Market Development Europe team and you report to the Head of Market Development Europe.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5-8 years of experience in international consultative selling/business development, at least partly in the German market;
  • Proven ability to drive sales and partnerships in B-to-B (pref. in FMCG, pref. in food);
  • Strong understanding of and radar for customer needs, market dynamics and antenna for business opportunities;
  • Good understanding of and strong affinity with Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability;
  • Master's degree in business or related;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong negotiation skills, strategic mind;
  • Excellent command of German and English.
Employment is based upon 40 hours/week. The position is based in Amsterdam or remote from a home base office in Germany with frequent travels to HQ. The position is open to applicants of all nationalities, however, in particular for the position based in the Netherlands, we can only consider candidates who have, may get or do not need a work and residency permit for the Netherlands.
