UTZ is headquartered in Amsterdam and works closely with its partner network in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
We are looking to hire a:
Debt Collection Officer
The financial administrative team of UTZ consists of the Head of HR, Finance and IT, as well as four finance colleagues. Debt collection will be your key responsibility. You will systematically plan, execute and monitor all debt collection activities while maintaining a positive relationship with our business members. In addition you will also execute a broad variety of bookkeeping and general administrative tasks. We are looking for a proactive and responsible team player to fit into the international UTZ culture of high professional standards and working together on making agricultural practices more sustainable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Debt collection (50%)
Other accounting activities and general administrative activities (50%), e.g.:
  • Accounts Receivable: collect sales data and generate invoices
  • Accounts Payable: entering invoices in Account View and prepare payment
  • Month end reconcile General Ledger accounts with sub ledgers and analyze movements
  • Project administration (subsidies, hours registration)
  • Contribution to improvement of accounting and administrative systems and processes.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Intermediate vocational education (MBO-4) or BBA level (HBO) in accounting or financial administration
  • Min. 2 years of experience in debt collection and bookkeeping in international business setting
  • Very good English and Dutch speaking and writing skills; knowledge of French is a plus
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural skills; service attitude yet persistent, result driven
  • Analytical and well organized problem solver.

The position is based in Amsterdam. We offer a year contract with a minimum of 32 hours / maximum 40 hours a week. We will only consider candidates who have or do not need a work and residency permit for the Netherlands.
