Assistant Corporate Communications Officer

Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA) mandate is to provide training, research and consultancy services, designed to promote national development standards of competence and integrity mainly in the Public Service.

Assistant Corporate Communications Officer

The Assistant Corporate Communications Officer will be responsible for the Planning and implementing of public relations, and communication programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for KIA. He/she will also initiate and implement marketing strategies.

Key Results Areas will include:
  • Device PR strategies to communicate to diverse stakeholder and audiences
  • Write effective press releases, information kits and communication materials and executive presentations
  • Maintain communication and public relation databases
  • Draft speeches and arrange interviews and other PR activities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to existing and prospective clients through, events, media relations, e-marketing and internal communications
  • Manage the photograph and visual library
  • Develop content for KIA publications i.e. newsletters, annual reports, brochures, etc. This includes gathering information and writing stories
  • Coordinate the production of KIA publications i.e. dealing with graphic designers and printers
  • Assist in updating content of KIA’s website
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience:
  • BA Public Relations/ BA Communication
  • At least 3 years professional communications experience.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate messages for general audiences.
  • Good understanding of marketing strategies.
  • A self driven individual, results oriented and a team player with effective communication abilities.
  • IT proficiency: experience in Web design and desktop publishing
  • Fluent in spoken English. Excellent in written English
Remuneration:

Salary scale: Kshs. 41,682 x 930 - 43,541 x 1,162 - 50,511 x 1,395 - 54,695
