With 14 organisations working across 98 countries, Oxfam fights to end poverty on a global scale. To do that well we need to work together. And leading one of our teams in Nigeria, you'll make sure we do.

The role
Our work in Nigeria focuses on agriculture, food security and gender equality. And with a recent food crisis, it's absolutely crucial that we maintain a cohesive, integrated approach across our teams in the region. That's why in this strategic role, we'll expect you to help roll out our new Single Management System (SMS). It means that although you'll be leading Oxfam GB programme staff, you'll be playing a supporting role to our Dutch team. So while you'll still have a big say in our overall strategy, they'll be calling the shots. Taking charge of operational and people management, it'll be down to you to mobilise your team and deliver our part of the plan. But as well as managing the smooth changeover to SMS, you'll support the analysis of our work in-country - something that will have a huge impact on your role. And on top of that, you'll carry out high-level tasks like engaging the private sector, building relationships with key political figures and managing those vital donor contracts.

What we're looking for
The importance of this role cannot be understated. And to do it successfully, you'll need to be a driven development leader used to working in an International Non Governmental Organisation (INGO) environment. So you'll know all about managing donor and partner relationships, and be confident overseeing complex budgets. More than that, you'll have an understanding of security, risk and Health & Safety and be able to think politically and strategically in challenging situations. And as well as being analytical, flexible and fluent in English, you'll also have experience of both fundraising and developing staff.

About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There's enough wealth in this world to go around. It's not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It's unjustifiable. It's not just their problem. It's ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we're looking for yours.
