Aditya Birla Group, a $ 29 billion Indian conglomerate, invites applications for the position of Manager- Corporate Social Responsibility. The Group has its Carbon Black and acrylic Fibre Units in Alexandria. The Carbon Black Unit commenced operations in 1994 while the Fibre Unit is a new entity which started operating in 2006. In the year 2009, the Group was ranked among the top six great places for leaders in the Asia-Pacific region, in a study conducted by Hewitt Associates, RBL Group and Fortune magazine. 1) Job Purpose
To strategize, plan, synergize, co-ordinate, and help implement and monitor the community initiatives and development projects in and around Alexandria.

3) Principal Accountabilities
a. To implement the Social Vision of the Company.

b. To engage with the community and other identified stakeholders and work through interventions in the areas of education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood, capacity building and other development agendas taken up from time to time.

c. Ensure development of target communities of the Group units through need based development initiatives and build healthy proactive community relationships.

d. Networking with Units, NGOs, Govt. Institutions and other social development agencies and work in partnership to take recourse of their expertise and widen the project reach and benefits.

e. Monitor expenditure relating to the CSR budget in accordance with financial regulations and processes.

f. Actively participate in local, regional seminars, workshops, conferences that may enrich corporate exposure and experience future possible CSR projects.

g. Develop and implement a dissemination strategy for the CSR initiatives taken up.

h. Create internal awareness on CSR and encourage staff participation.

i. Establish documentation process to enable the best development practices are recorded and that the Unit has a complete repository of CSR practices.

j. Responsible for project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CSR initiatives and social audit at the Unit.

4) Key Requirements

Essential
– Egyptian National
– Excellent understanding of CSR initiatives and rural development projects
– At least 8 – 10 years' of experience, or having worked in a relevant capacity within business, Government or Social Organizations
– Graduate degree in Social Science
– Proven track record in engaging with the Community and delivering outstanding achievements in the areas of Education, Healthcare and sustainable development of the Community
– Proven self-starter, who can lead and deliver projects at high level
– Experience in managing projects to deadlines
– Demonstrable commitment to quality
– A desire to learn and develop
– Proficiency in English
– Ability to engage with the media, would be an asset
