The IT Department in Sacramento serves staff throughout the state in 30 remote locations and regional offices in Sacramento, Oakland, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Diego. We host approximately 270 e-mail accounts on eight in-house post offices, on six geographically distributed servers. We operate 25 physical Dell PowerEdge servers and 14 virtualized servers on a mix of Windows 2003, Windows 2008, Hyper-V and ESXi. In addition, the IT Department maintains 220 Dell OptiPlex desktop PCs and 55 Dell Latitude laptops, running a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7, of which approximately 50% are located on the LAN and 50% are mobile or remote. Key applications include GroupWise, MS Office, MS Office Communications Server, MS SharePoint Server, MS SQL Server, GWAVA Retain, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Sage MIP Fund Accounting and MS Data Protection Manager.
The IT Director reports to the Deputy Director, serves as the supervisor of the Senior Systems Administrator, the IT Manager, and other IT staff as appropriate. The IT Director is responsible for the overall direction, design, vision, and management of the enterprise systems and project management through ongoing support and oversight of management tools, software and databases in achieving Disability Rights California’s organizational mission, goals, and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Five years supervisory and management experience.
3. Five years hands-on experience of Microsoft Windows operating systems and software in a complex enterprise environment.
4. Two years experience with internet, telephone, and video systems.
5. Ability to communicate and work well with all management levels of the organization.
6. Ability to analyze information; make reasoned recommendations and decisions; and keep accurate logs, records and reports.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
8. Demonstrated experience coordinating complex information technology projects.
9. Two years experience in applications support, including extensive knowledge/use of Microsoft Windows and Office in a large network environment.
10. Proficiency in, or equivalent experience with Sharepoint, case management software or other legal specific applications.
11. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, including a working knowledge of correct English grammar, punctuation, spelling and sentence structure.
12. Strong interpersonal and customer service, including ability to handle difficult situations patiently and tactfully.
13. Ability to work independently and prioritize to complete assignments on schedule.
14. Demonstrated excellence in logical thought processes and high level problem solving skills.
15. Experience working with or sensitivity to individuals with disabilities.
16. Experience working with or sensitivity to individuals from ethnic and language distinct communities.
