Trade and Industrial Policy Manager

Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.

Cefic is located in Auderghem and employs more than 160 people.

For its department Industrial Policy, Cefic is looking for a (M/F):

Trade and Industrial Policy Manager

Responsibilities

  • Conducting feasibility assessments regarding anti-dumping /anti-subsidy complaints on behalf of Community producers;
  • Develop position papers on WTO and free trade agreement related issues;
  • Represent Cefic at meetings with European Commission, European Parliament and national authorities;
  • Advise members on industrial policy related matters.

Skills & competencies

  • Masters degree in law, with specialization in trade policy and trade defence instruments. Candidates with an economic degree with excellent knowledge of EC trade defence instruments will also be considered; in the latter case the job profile may also include work on economic dossiers;
  • Preferably 5-8 years professional experience with a trade association or law firm;
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills;
  • Strong personality with excellent organizational and presentation skills;
  • Excellent English (both spoken and written), other European languages are an asset;
  • Ability to work independently after training period;
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel);
  • Efficiency in communication with members, European Commission and Member States officials.
