Under the general supervision of the Senior Media Officer, Creative Services, Multimedia Services Section (MSS), designs, formulates, produces, and delivers multimedia products and services, ensuring functional and technologically appropriate solutions for targeted audiences.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Actively assists the Senior Media Officer of the Creative Services Team with strategic planning and provides substantive input to section, division, and departmental planning and goal setting. Plans and determines priorities, and establishes objectives in an effort to produce cost efficient, modern multimedia products that effectively convey the work of the Fund. Performs the role and tasks of the Senior Media Officer when required.
Communicates, advises, and collaborates with staff, senior management, and outside organizations on the best methodology, technology, and product to convey Fund messages. Actively engages and maintains contacts with outside organizations and design and marketing firms, in a cooperative dialogue to ensure a productive exchange and sharing of best practices to generate maximum usage and impact of Fund communication products.
Acts as project manager for assigned multimedia and communication services and products. In this capacity, conceptualizes, prepares, plans, and creates the design, layout, and delivery of a wide variety of multimedia products and services. Supervises, monitors and reviews the work of on-site vendor personnel assigned to related projects for effective messaging, quality of product, and timely delivery.
Assists with the development and preparation of Statements of Work and requests for proposals (RFPs). Evaluates proposals and participates in the selection of multimedia vendors for specific projects and oversees their performance against contractual terms and conditions.
Monitors and supervises the daily workflow, metadata, and ingestion of project assets , including the purchase of stock art and multimedia assets. Ensures accuracy, quality, and consistency of metadata for owned and purchased assets. Negotiates and ensures proper authorization, usage, and documentation, of intellectual property rights.
Understands the Fund's mandate and annual work plan in order to capture and document themes to effectively explain the work of the Fund to a variety of audiences.
Advanced university degree in communications, multimedia, graphic arts, or a related field plus a minimum of six years of relevant professional work experience; or a bachelors degree in communications, multimedia, graphic arts, or a related field , supplemented by a minimum of eight years of relevant professional work experience, is required.
