Reporting to a Senior Scientist, Gender Specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for data management and statistical analysis of field level data and household surveys. She or he will be in-charge of data collection, management, analysis and drafting of reports and other duties as requested by the Senior Scientist. She/he will provide research support to IRS and NARES collaborators in attaining the strategic goals of the Institute.

Major accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Document and manage database and statistical analysis of field level data and household surveys in collaboration with NARES
• Assist in the planning, design of socioeconomic surveys
• Conduct socioeconomic surveys
• Assist in interpreting results
• Draft reports
• Train and assist NARES collaborators
• Perform all other related tasks that may be assigned by IRS supervisor and NARES collaborators

Qualification requirements

• BS degree in Agricultural Economics or Statistics
• At least 1 year experience in data management and data analysis
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS for Windows, CSPro
