Assistant Scientist - Statistics

The job position will provide technical support to the Scientist/Agricultural Anthropologist and research team on data management, econometric/statistical analysis of micro and macro level data on rice production and render assistance in the monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Major accountabilities / Responsibilities
• Develop database of primary and secondary data, both quantitative and qualitative
• Manage Socio-economics and KAP data including GIS related data using MS Access
• Perform and document econometric/statistical analyses using SAS, SPSS, R statistics and other related statistical packages
• Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of training, knowledge management, and partnership
• Assist the other members of the team in managing their perspective research data and analysis
• Write research papers for journal publications and present results to local and international conferenes, meetings, and workshops
• Perform all other related tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualification requirements
• MS in Statistics
• At least 3 years relevant work experience
• Ability to work independently and effectively across diverse cultures and work as a member of a multipdisciplinary team
• Experience in data management, coding, analyzing and writing up of qualitative and quantitative data
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
