The Position

Have you got a vision for communications at a global level that will ensure we remain at the forefront of the sector from both strategic and operational perspectives? Do you enjoy the challenge of developing and managing imaginative and cohesive communication initiatives designed to achieve significant social change? Do you thrive working in a collaborative and collegiate environment where individual skills are blended to achieve major impact? Can you inspire, lead and improve real and virtual teams to continually produce outstanding work? Can you engage and influence remotely located talent to develop their own strategic thinking to multiply the impact of communications globally? Can you contribute significantly to our internal senior management to accelerate the communications value across the organisation?

Qualification & Experience

We are looking for an exceptional individual to apply their leadership and experience to move ActionAid’s International Communications Team on to the next level as we strive to make a real difference to peoples’ human rights in an increasingly challenging and complex world.

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of developing a long term international communications strategy, as well as action plans and budgets. She or he should have the ability to provide clear vision, manage different complex stakeholder groups, as well as have extensive experience of building and leading creative and successful communications teams. Besides a strong commitment to develop, promote and practice ActionAid’s vision, mission, values, strategy, the successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically and delegate where appropriate, to prioritise competing demands and to influence a diverse, international peer group. The candidate must be willing to travel internationally on a regular basis.
