Role purpose

Produce and edit copy for fta.co.uk plus FTA's other hosted websites. Working closely with the Web Development team to ensure the best possible design and content for FTA's online platforms. Writing and editing content for FTA publications, social media and internal communications.

Duties

• Keeping the FTA website up to date with the latest business and industry news
• Final editing and publishing all online content from guest authors
• Ensuring SEO best practice among all FTA websites and advising on ways to improve performance
• Working with the Marketing, Communications and Policy teams to co-ordinate and promote FTA’s business activity
• Updating and developing FTA’s social media platforms, including blogs, Facebook and Twitter
• Writing and editing FTA’s internal communications in the form of staff newsletters and emails
• Writing articles for FTA’s member magazine, reports and service newsletters
• Ensuring all FTA media platforms are consistent in tone of voice and copy house-style
• Using data analysis software to track, analyse and improve the performance of key content on fta.co.uk and related sites

Projects

• Developing ideas and content for FTA projects and campaigns
• Educating other FTA departments in copywriting and SEO best practice
• Maintaining standards and best practice procedures for website editors

Requirements

• Minimum four years copywriting experience, ideally for an online audience
• An excellent knowledge of web writing, SEO and how people use the internet
• The ability to summarise complex information into easy-to-understand key points
• Excellent editing and proof reading skills
• Experience of using and developing social media platforms for business purposes
• Ability to work with limited or no direct supervision and to organise workload accordingly
• Experience of working to strict deadlines
• Journalistic and blogging experience desirable
