COUNTRY DIRECTOR, HAITI

Haven is a development foundation (NGO) founded in 2008 and dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Haiti by building strong and sustainable communities, through the provision of shelter, training courses and income generation projects. Our vision is of a Haiti made up of sustainable communities, with each family having a place to call home.

We are looking for a Country Director to manage and ensure all programmes and activities are implemented, monitored and evaluated in a timely manner, to ensure that they are appropriate, necessary, cost effective, targeted, sustainable and in keeping with Haven’s mission and philosophy. This includes developing and monitoring a coherent national strategy, preparation and submission of project/programme proposals, ensuring effective communications within country and HQ in Ireland and developing long term partnerships with government and donors.

You will have a minimum 5 years overseas management experience in humanitarian assistance programmes, at least 2 years of which must be at senior management level, with experience in development and management of WatSan, Shelter and Community programs and managing large, multinational teams of people. A comprehensive knowledge and working experience of government officials, NGO funders and other donors with a proven ability to secure donor funding.
