Development Director Center for the Adolescents of San Miguel de Allende

The Development Coordinator will lead a team effort that will maximize CASA’s fundraising ability. Recently CASA’s Mexican Executive Director and staff have begun to build up a needed support base from Mexican individuals, as well as explore new partnerships with Mexican foundations, corporations and transnational companies based in Mexico. The Development Coordinator will play a vibrant role in these activities, as well as, manage CASA’s other, on-going fundraising programs and implement new activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSABILITIES
- Evaluate, plan, implement and manage CASA’s annual development program with the Executive Director and finance team.
- Train, mentor and supervise 2 members of the development staff; work closely with senior program staff (15) and report to the Executive Director.
- Work with the Board of Directors to set annual fund raising goals and manage bequests and planned giving efforts; provide staff support to Board’s activities.
- Research, identify, and approach in concert with the board and staff new major donor prospects – individual, foundation and corporate—particularly Mexican based sources of support; arrange donor meetings.
- Improve and keep up to date donor solicitation and cultivation packages.
- Manage database, donor records, acknowledgement process and correspondence.
- Analyze donor activity and generate fund raising progress reports.
- Write proposals, reports, solicitation letters, cultivation materials and other fund raising materials.
- Organize fundraising events.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Fluency in English and Spanish with preference given to those whose mother tongue is Spanish and who have lived in Mexico.
- Minimum 2-4 years experience of demonstrated leadership in the development and donor relations areas, ideally at a Mexican nonprofit.
- Highly collegial & able to work positively, strategically and productively with colleagues at all levels. Capable of fostering enthusiasm, cooperation and support for fundraising initiatives across the organization; promote discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent writing skills, prior grant writing experience in both Spanish and English, and computer competency.
- Comfortable at multi-tasking, and with a high level of stamina and good sense of humor.
