Head of Mortgage Unit
The Position
The Head of Mortgage Unit is based at the Head Office, reporting to the Director Credit. He/she will be in charge of growth of the Bank’s mortgage portfolio and shall be required to guide implementation of the Bank’s mortgage strategy.

The Position
The Head of Mortgage Unit is based at the Head Office, reporting to the Director Credit. He/she will be in charge of growth of the Bank’s mortgage portfolio and shall be required to guide implementation of the Bank’s mortgage strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for defining and implementing mortgage banking strategies to support the Bank’s growth objectives.
- Responsible for core mortgage operations of the bank such as mortgage finance.
- Establishing and deepening relationships with the key management staff of the Bank’s mortgage customers.
- Supervising and monitoring mortgage credit review and performance analysis.
- Design of unique mortgage products that will meet the Bank’s defined target market.
- Growing the mortgage book.
Candidate’s Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- A degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Accounting or any other related field.
- A postgraduate degree/professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Must have at least 6 years of relevant experience in a mortgage/commercial bank.
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements by CBK, practices, processes and systems relating to mortgage operations.
- Sound understanding of the mortgage market and good knowledge of current mortgage products and services in the market.

- Knowledge of commercial law and recovery practices.
- Strong Leadership Skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have attention to detail and be result oriented.
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and demonstrate a good level of maturity.
Mortgage Relationship Managers
The Position
The Mortgage Relationship Managers will be based at the Head Office, reporting to the Head of Mortgage Unit. They shall act as the main relationship officers for all mortgage customers and work closely with them for the mutual benefit of both parties in marketing for new business.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively market mortgage lending opportunities from current and prospective clients.
- Grow the mortgage book to targeted levels by originating quality loans.
- Maintaining credit files according to policy and procedures.
- Working together with the Branches to ensure loan documentation and security is perfection.
- Daily monitoring and administration of all accounts.
- Promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relationships.
- Providing timely and organised responses to customer questions/disputes.
- Preparing performance reports (monthly work plan, activity report etc).
Candidate’s Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- A degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Accounting or any other related field.
- Must have at least 5 years experience required (3 of which must be in credit).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Computer proficiency.
Desired Ability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Financial management skills.
- Knowledge of commercial law & recovery practices.
- Strong Leadership Skills.
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and demonstrate a good level of maturity.
