Head of Tour Department E-Resources - Uganda
Our Client, a leading and reputable Tour and Travel Company in the East African legion, has two Exciting Opportunity within its Organizational Structure as outlined below:
Post: Head of Tour Department
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate is expected to have overall responsibility of directing and coordinating the operations of the Tour department.
KEY TASKS: The main duties and responsibilities of the Head of Tour Department will include: ' Overall management of the selling holiday and Tour products to customers;
• Doing research and producing periodical newsletters with current offers to be sent out to clients, organizing displays of promotional material.
• Overseeing the Liaising with tour operators and other key partners such as hotels and airlines regarding bookings and schedules; creating contact with hotels, car hire, sightseeing attraction and other service providers for best competitive contract rates
• Undertaking general administration of the tour department;
• Ensuring the tour product rates files are orderly and up to date
• Being on standby ready to provide solutions in case of mishaps during safari
• Ensuring that follow-ups (or tour quotations are made and that they are competitive inclusions, exclusions. The terms and conditions of a quotation should be highlighted to reduce disputes with clients

Job requirement
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A University Degree in Travel and Tourism, An advanced IATA diploma from a recognized training institution or related fields, A Galileo certificate is added advantage. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position.
