Project/Proposal Summary:
MSI is seeking a skilled travel professional to plan, coordinate, book, and provide logistical travel support for government clients both domestically and abroad.

Position Summary:
The Travel Manager handles foreign travel requests to achieve timely, compliant, and cost-efficient solutions for travel of government and contractor personnel. The Manager is also responsible for all aspects of the travel function including coordinating country clearances, visas, health and other requirements as necessary.

Responsibilities:
The Manager will:
• Deal with requirements for foreign travel, accommodations, and facilities for government officials, MSI, and other personnel as necessary;
• Coordinate planning and execution of foreign travel including arranging for country clearance, visas, CAC cards, airline tickets, surface transportation, hotel reservations, conference rooms, and equipment needed to support traveler tasks and mission requirements;
• Identify problems; communicate, coordinate and resolve problems related to foreign travel requests for Government customers and MSI personnel;
• Develop, modify, update, or improve procedures, practices, service level requirements, and other documents to guide, administer, measure performance, and improve the travel function;
• Closely coordinate and cooperate with other support personnel to provide ad hoc surge support to include but not limited to travel order processing, review security databases, review medical records, review biographic data, resolve post-travel issues, and fulfill pre-travel requirements as may be required;
• Assist Government, MSI, and other travelers prepare for and execute international travel;
• Coordinate with in-country entities and organizations to ensure smooth transition through customs and immigration.

The Manager may:
• Be required to train Government or MSI employees on applicable travel regulations, processes, and procedures.
• Be required to undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position, including experience managing international travel on USG funded projects; experience performing travel functions for a DOD, DOS, USAID, or DOJ office strongly preferred;
• Comprehensive knowledge of Government Travel Regulations (GTR) and substantive experience working with travel, hotel and the hospitality industry in arranging travel, hotel reservations, conference space and communications capabilities world-wide;
• Ability to negotiate rates favorable to the Government with air carriers, hotels, surface transportation carriers, local vendors, and other service suppliers related to fulfilling the travel function;
• Must have thorough knowledge and experience of customer related foreign travel issues and be able to recommend appropriate solutions to ensure travel processing is completed on time;
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, rapidly changing environment, and to prioritize effectively, problem solve, and work several tasks concurrently;
• Strong written and oral communication skills required, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Must hold or be able to obtain a secret level US security clearance; candidates with current clearances preferred.
