KIM University Lecturers

Established in 1954, The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) a leading not-for-profit management and leadership development organization in Africa. Our mission is to promote excellence and integrity in the practice of management.

KIM is cognizant of leadership and professional management challenges and needs for Kenya, Africa and the global community in the 21St century and beyond.

To broaden our human capacity building operations and take professional management and leadership training to the essential professional level for these challenges, KIM is in the process of sponsoring and establishing a university with business leadership development as its forte.

In this regard KIM is now seeking to recruit Lecturers for the Proposed KIM University.

We therefore invite interested dynamic, self-motivated and strident scholars to apply for the following positions:

Lecturers in Development Studies

Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise students and research projects both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in some of the following programmes:
  • Economic Development
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Project Management
  • Environmental Studies
You will also be required to perform related duties to support the core mission of the School, Faculty and the University

Knowledge, skills and experience required
  • The applicant must have a PhD Degree in Development Studies or in a related discipline.
  • Those who hold relevant Master’s Degree (and are registered for PhD) and have at least 3 years of teaching experience in a tertiary level institution will also be considered.
  • Applicants are also expected to show evidence of active research and significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge.
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching.
  • Be of the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism.
Lecturers in Leadership

Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise students and research both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also be required to perform related duties to support the core mission of the School, Faculty and the University.

Knowledge, skills and experience required
  • Applicant must have a PhD Degree in Leadership Studies.
  • Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies (are registered for a PhD) with at least 3 years of teaching experience in a tertiary level institution will also be considered.
  • Applicants are also expected to show evidence of active research and significant contribution to advancement of knowledge.
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching.
