Stigma, Discrimination and Gender Intern

ICRW currently seeks a stigma, discrimination and gender intern.

Primary Duties:

This is a 3-month unpaid internship working with the stigma, discrimination and gender team. The intern will be mentored in the content area of HIV-related stigma and discrimination reduction. The intern will build knowledge about the subject area, including making new contacts through interactions with the Stigma Action Network (SAN) steering committee members as well as the broader community of stigma network members. The intern will primarily support development of content for the SAN website. This may include reading and categorizing material (articles, reports, etc.) for placement on the SAN website e-library; writing summaries or introductions for certain material for the e-library, uploading content to the e-library, and doing additional online searches for a range of published and unpublished literature, tools and other resources.

Required Skills:

ICRW is seeking a junior or senior year undergraduate student or recent graduate; or a master’s graduate or master's candidate in sociology, demography, economics, public health, public affairs or related discipline. Good computer and online search skills are required. Experience and skills in using Refman (or another reference manager) and conducting literature reviews is an advantage, but most important is interest in the topic area and willingness to learn.
