Situated in the Piet Retief/Panbult area, ±65 km from Piet Retief, Kangra Coal (Pty) Ltd is a modern, mechanised mine producing 400 000 ROM tonnes per month from 5 mechanised, double-shift sections. The following vacancies have arisen within this colliery:
Technical Manager
Key requirements: • A tertiary qualification in 1 of the following: * Mine Surveying * BTech Mining Engineering * BSc Mining Engineering * BSc Geology · At least 5 years' coal mining experience in 1 of the above · 3 years' experience in using Micro Station/CAD/Xpack or similar modelling software · 3 years' management experience, engaging internal and external stakeholders • Experience in underground and open pit coalmining • Exposure to the responsibilities held by a Technical Manager • Exposure to and knowledge of Modelmaker, Surpac and Minex or similar.
This senior role will see the incumbent undertake the entire management of the Technical, Survey and Geology departments. He/she will also be responsible for future exploration, month-end reports and mine planning.
