Situated in the Piet Retief/Panbult area, ±65 km from Piet Retief, Kangra Coal (Pty) Ltd is a modern, mechanised mine producing 400 000 ROM tonnes per month from 5 mechanised, double-shift sections. The following vacancies have arisen within this colliery:

Mine Overseer

Key requirements: • A Mine Overseer's Certificate of Competency • A Strata Control Certificate • Computer literacy • At least 5 years' experience as a Mine Overseer • Extensive practical experience in coal production, conveyors, dykes, road building, explosives and water reticulation • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proven supervisory skills • The ability to work under pressure and solve problems • The ability to meet production targets.

The incumbent will be tasked with running underground coal production operations, ensuring safety and legal compliance by performing legal inspections and developing SOPs and COPs. He/she will control machinery, labour and cost and undertake mine planning and problem-solving.
