The Nursing Division, located within the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, is repositioning itself as a leading African Centre for training and research, aimed at addressing the health care challenges of the 21st century.

Duties:
• Strategic leadership and operational management of the Division;
• Undergraduate teaching as well as well as supervision of students on the joint teaching platform in terms of the agreement between the University and other tertiary institutions in the Western Cape;
• Postgraduate training and supervision of postgraduate students;
• Performing collaborative research and securing research funding;
• Participating in appropriate service and community interaction activities.

Requirements:
• PhD degree;
• Registration/compliance with criteria for registration with the South African Council for Nursing in Nursing (General, Midwifery), Nursing Education and Nursing Administration/Management;
• Experience in teaching/supervising students at postgraduate level;
• A track record of independent research and research output;
• Proven experience in a managerial position with experience in strategic leadership, team building, conflict resolution and change management.

Recommendations:
• Experience in technology mediated education;
• Language proficiency in Afrikaans as well as English;
• The ability to communicate in an additional South African language.

Appointment is on the joint establishment of Stellenbosch University and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape.
