POSITION SUMMARY
Working in the EMEA Organizational Development Team, the Manager, OD Business Partnerships, will lead a group of commercially astute HR Business Partners focused on the Corporate and Technical areas of the business. The team work closely with the organisation to ensure that OD is a business enabler, and is widely acknowledged as being so.
This role will have 2 main remits:
1. Management of the OD Business Partner Team for the Corporate & Technical business areas
2. Providing senior level, proactive OD business partnering to dedicated Business Units across the EMEA region, whilst remaining in step with Global Business Unit activity.
Working with colleagues across specialist groups in the wider OD team, the Business Partner Team contributes to the design and delivery of initiatives that add value to the organisation and contribute to the ongoing success of RIM.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
People Management
  • Managing a team of OD Business Partners including:
    • providing day to day management support and coaching
    • setting team objectives
    • reviewing performance
    • being a member of the OD Business Partner Management Team
Business Partner
  • Managing client relationships effectively by leveraging the matrix organisation to provide seamless HR business partnering to specific BUs
  • Working as a key member of the leadership team of specific business units in the role of people specialist, coach and trusted advisor to this group.
  • Anticipating business requirements, thereby ensuring that the OD Team contributes to the bottom line through development and delivery of appropriate people solutions, and understanding of commercial and business priorities.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and value adding working relationships at a senior level through visibility in the organisation, proactive partnering and delivery of commercially effective solutions to the business.
  • Coaching senior leaders through various people related matters such as organisation development, growth, and change programmes.
  • Ensuring the profile of the EMEA OD team is retained through visibility at the appropriate level in the organisation, effective communication and ensuring awareness of OD value add initiatives and strategic pillars.
  • To develop manager and leader capability through effective coaching and partnering.
  • To provide effective Employee Relations support as required.
  • To collaborate with HR Specialist teams in order to provide specific consultancy to Business Units, such as anticipating and planning for Succession and Leadership Development, Talent Management, Recruitment and Reward.
  • To coach the organisation through HR Annual Cycle activity - Performance Review, Compensation Planning and Employee Survey.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks/priorities
  • Demonstrable leadership ability
  • Strong team player with proven coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Educated at least to 'A' level standard, with third level education preferred
  • Graduate of CIPD or equivalent
  • Fluency in English is essential, and skills in other European languages are strongly desired
  • Previous experience in a hi tech, fast paced multi cultural and rapidly changing matrixed environment
  • Business Partnering with technical groups within a hi tech organisation, coupled with a solid understanding of the challenges these teams face
  • Work within a North American HQ business culture and sensitivity to this is essential
  • Experience of working across several EMEA countries is important, including providing HR support across multiple countries
  • Proven ability to work effectively and negotiate a complicated global matrix organisation, whilst influencing at a senior level
  • Ability to be able to juggle several priorities whilst continuing to meet deadlines
  • Working closely with the business to deliver effective and professional solutions
  • Positive 'can do' attitude and flexible approach
  • Driven to succeed
  • Thrives on new situations where the solution has to be found and no precedent exists
  • Proven interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to influence Senior Leaders in remote locations
