Overview:

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works with the Vietnam Authority of HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) to help strengthen the capacity of national health systems to provide HIV prevention, care and treatment services.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Program Coordinator (PC) to ensure effective program coordination within CHAI and with all partners. The PC will provide vision, strategy, coordination, and management over a broad range of activity areas such as PMTCT, patient identification and scale up, care and treatment (national trainings, on-site mentoring), lab systems strengthening, referral network development, Health Information Systems, M&E, operational research, and policy development. The PC will identify gaps, recommend solutions, complete all necessary reporting requirements, conduct assessments, develop and follow-up with work plans, develop and implement M&E systems. The PC will also work with the Country Director (CD) and oversee program staff to ensure alignment with the goals and vision of CHAI and VAAC.

The PC will also be in a position to significantly influence national policy discussions and direction.

Qualifications:

•Master’s Degree (preferably in Public Health, Business, or development) required

•3+ years experience in public or private sector, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership; health care experience in developing country preferred

•Excellent oral and written English communication skills required; Oral and written Vietnamese skills preferred

•Highly proficient computer skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with complex Excel formulas and statistical software preferred

•Knowledge and experience with HIV/AIDS care and treatment preferred

•Understanding of and experience with east Asian cultures

Other Attributes:

•Demonstrated understanding of healthcare systems in resource-limited settings

•Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills; staff management experience preferred

•Creative, flexible, and efficient

•Strong analytical skills to dissect and structure a complex problem, drawing upon various sources and experiences

•Self-motivated and strong work ethic that other staff can model

•Responsive to the needs of staff and government

•Respect for the political process and protocols involved in government programs
