Rio Tinto Minerals is the acknowledged world leader in developing industrial minerals - building blocks for life, and for products that contribute to better living - and in developing solutions to build customers' businesses. RTM operates globally and includes two businesses in the United States: Rio Tinto Borax and Luzenac. Rio Tinto Borax supplies nearly half of the global demand for refined borates - key ingredients for fibreglass, glass, ceramics, fertilizers, wood preservatives, and hundreds of other products. Luzenac supplies 25% of the global demand for talc, employing approximately 1500 people on four continents.
We are currently seeking for a Regional Market Analyst to join the Singapore office. The role assumes responsibility for analyzing the market for growth of the Industrial Minerals portfolio in Asia with the aim of improving profit margins and supporting the sales team with market analysis. In addition, the role is required to lead regional business optimization initiatives and assist reporting and planning.
Accountabilities:
  • Devise product and market strategies for Asia Pacific by working closely with the Regional Sales & Marketing team
  • Compile market research and keep the sales team updated on developments and trends in key industries
  • Provide support to regional sales team with analysis and presentation materials
  • Maintain market analysis databases, prepare and promptly submit regular and ad-hoc reports required for internal and external reporting
  • Lead various projects and assist Vice President Sales (Asia Pacific)
  • Regional Sales Planning
  • Regional Sales Reporting Development

  • Skill to compile reports for use in management presentations.

  • Strong communication and written skills in English & Chinese
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Equivalent of 4-6 years of relevant working experience in business analysis and planning
