Background / General description:
Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 2 year renewable term appointment. This position is located in IFC headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Global Manufacturing Division of the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services Department is seeking a Senior/Principal Investment Officer to join the global team. At present, Global Manufacturing Division encompasses three sector teams – Construction Materials, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Energy Efficient Machinery. The position will primarily focus on developing client relationships with global clients in the priority sectors within the Global Manufacturing Division.

Duties and Accountabilities:
The responsibilities of the Senior/Principal Investment Officer will include, but are not limited to: - Leading business development with global clients in the Manufacturing industries; - Participating, primarily as a Team Leader, and occasionally as a Transaction Leader, depending on the experience, in processing investments in the Manufacturing industries globally; - Helping to develop wholesaling action plan of joint investments with the Financial Markets department, and lead wholesaling for the Manufacturing industries; - Helping to develop strategic views of the Manufacturing sectors under the coverage of the Global Manufacturing Division; - Contributing to the knowledge management activities as required; - Acting as the Client Relationship Manager for key global Manufacturing clients.

Selection Criteria:
- A Master’s Degree in finance or business or equivalent, professional qualification and a minimum of 12 years professional, relevant experience with a high preference given to IFC experience; - Significant investment transaction experience, with proven success in business development, including developing client relationships and processing quality investments. Good “deal sense” based on demonstrated strong analytical skills and sound business judgment; - Significant sector experience and expertise in at least one of the Manufacturing industries; - Openness to new ideas and structures; proactive generation of attractive investment ideas, and execution of new investment strategies; - Strong written and verbal communications skills; - Ability to work through teams, often in remote locations, and deliver high quality work within deadlines; - Excellent people skills.
