Technical Sales Manager, RAN

Provide technical sales support on RAN and site products to the sales organizations in the Region.
Proactively work with CUs and Services organizations to create competitive offers using Total Cost of Ownership models. Meet customers and guide them to purchasing existing products and solutions. Participate in RFx responses, tenders, presentations and support Sales Teams with sales argumentation. Work with Sales teams and customers to create RAN configurations suitable for individual market needs. Interface with Services to ensure that such configurations are orderable and ready for deployment. Develop competitive offerings for site solutions (power, antennae, TMAs etc), using Ericsson products and third party components if necessary to complement the Ericsson portfolio in order to meet RECA customers' requirements and expectations. Perform complex research and analysis of market, technology, standards, customer requirements and competitor trends for the development of new RAN site solutions and/or enhancements to existing products/solutions. Prepare market requirement specifications for new and/or enhanced products. Communicate Ericsson portfolio within the Region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Masters preferred. 5+ years related experience in the telecom field with extensive knowledge of wireless telecommunications marketplace.
  • Experience in RBS R&D or RF services is preferred. Previous experience in a similar technical sales support role is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of current UMTS/HSPA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE RBS

Products is required:

  • RBS hardware structure, interfaces, functionality, capacities, features, connectivity, configuration, product packages, O&M, documentation and product roadmap.
  • Proficiency in RBS operational aspects is required, including O&M, KPIs, site solutions (power, antenna sharing, TMAs).
  • The candidate must be capable to guide customers and engineers in the Services organization to solve problems involving RBS and Site Solutions deployed in customers' networks.
  • This position requires excellent understanding of the base technology of 2G/3G Radio products, related standards and technology evolution.
  • The candidate must have good understanding of RF systems and their impact on Radio Systems performance.
  • Experience with radio network dimensioning and design is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills, team player attitude and ability to build a trustworthy and lasting relationship with the customer, other groups in CUs, product units and other internal organizations are necessary for this position.
  • The candidate should have a business development, creative mindset with the ability to effectively present business driven RBS and Site Solutions to customers at all levels, demonstrating the value of the proposed solution.
  • Strong presentation skills are required, in order to successfully push the Ericsson portfolio in the market place.
  • Existing contact network within RBS and/or Site Solutions R&D and Product
    Management organizations is a definite plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed both domestic and international, on short notice with availability to support sales efforts during non-business hours.
